YAEL HARNIK
Disclosure/解きほぐす
Sukiwa Gallery
Tokyo, 2021
The works featured in this exhibition are Yael's first experimentation with unweaving. Her research of temporal expressions and uncertainty has led her to undo her own dyed works. By carefully pulling the threads of the woven fabric, exposing the underlying layer through a repetitive and somatic action, Yael explores the corporeality of the fabric - its bare, fragile state.
